Keolebogile, also known as Lebo, is an intern in the Children’s Rights and Positive Parenting (CRPP) unit. She is currently finalizing her Master in Public Health majoring in Health Economics at the University of Cape Town. Lebo is a very sociable person and says meeting new people always excites her. She always rise to the challenges she’s confronted with and strive to give her very best in everything she does.
While interning in the CRPP unit, Lebo, along with the team will be responsible for developing a curriculum that enforces gender sensitive and responsive strategies in antenatal facilities, to increase the involvement of fathers in supporting maternal and infant health.
This complements her master’s research where she is looking at inequalities in access to maternal health care in SADC countries, focusing on equity stratifiers such as household wealth, the mother and father’s level of education attainment and employment status.
Apart from being a full-time student, she also holds a position as a Secretary-General for the Postgraduate Health Sciences Student Council (PG HSSC) and love taking on leadership roles.
