Thomas Kingiela Khonde started volunteering at Sonke Gender Justice in 2008, and he subsequently became a Trainer in the Refugee Health and Rights Project in February 2010. Prior to coming to South Africa, Thomas worked as a coordinator for Vie du Pauvre (VP), a non-profit making organisation based in Bas-Congo (DRC) which specialises in agriculture and fish breeding sectors whose main objective being to empower women and communities to reducing poverty. Thomas holds a Diploma in Mathematical Physical Science. He has certificates in Project Management from the ABCS South Africa, Evidence-Based Health Management, Gender Based Violence for Educators from the Foundation for Professional Development (FPD) Pretoria, Counselling an individual in a structured environment from HIV South Africa (HIVSA), Advanced Human Rights Courses from the University of Pretoria. He was also trained as Facilitator for the Churches Channels of Hope (CCOH), HIV and Religion program. His unique aspiration is to contribute to positively changing the world and living in it.
