Silicosis March

About 600 people, including members of mineworkers unions as well as civil society took part in a march led by Sonke Gender Justice and the Treatment Action Campaign on the 13th of October 2015. The march, titled “Justice for Miners” is part of a concerted campaign to hold South Africa’s gold mines accountable for the health of underground workers and liable for damages for causing mineworkers to contract silicosis and tuberculosis. In this voxpops feature, several marchers tell why have they lent support to the march.
