Johannesburg, 22 November 2022 – Sonke Gender Justice in collaboration with the City of Johannesburg and Masiphephe network will join a global campaign to address gender based violence and femicide on the 25th of November 2022, in an unveiling of a mural painting under the theme: ‘Leaving no one behind: understanding the National Strategic Plan and raising awareness to community members’’.
The mural painting seeks to begin a dialogue on the National Strategic Plan pillars and enhance community understanding and participation in the fight against gender based violence, while fostering innovative strategies to hold duty bearers accountable to their policy commitments for GBV prevention. Representatives from government, private sector and civil society will attend the event.
