On 10 June, Regis Mtutu, Sonke’s National Programme Manager, will join colleagues from international organisations in addressing United States Senators to support the passage of the International Violence Against Women Act.
Sonke Gender Justice, the Family Violence Prevention Fund and the International Center for Research on Women will be making a presentation to the US Senate Staff to support the passage of the proposed Act, which would provide international development assistance focusing specifically on GBV prevention efforts, and mentions the need to engage men.
The presenters will be talking about the importance of engaging men in GBV prevention, lessons learned, what works, and gaps and priorities.
