Sonke Gender Justice at 21st International AIDS Conference

This week nearly 20,000 AIDS activists, researchers, and policy makers will make their way to Durban, South Africa, to participate in the twenty first International AIDS Conference.

Despite enormous progress, urgent action is still needed on many fronts: millions of people still do not have access to treatment, rates of HIV transmission are increasing in many parts of the world, and governments across the world routinely disregard or violate the rights of women, LGBTQI communities, sex workers, IV drug users, and inmates.

Sonke, together with our partner organisations, will present our work and participate in activism to insist that our governments, donors, corporate sector partners, and UN agencies deliver on their commitments to fund and implement effective prevention programmes, make sure that all who need treatment have it and respect and advance the rights of all.

Please join us at the many events we’re participating in at the Durban AIDS Conference. We look forward to seeing you there.
