Benter Okelo-RM

Benter joined Sonke in January 2014 as a Resource Mobilisation specialist. She has been extensively involved in both programme work and administrative roles within the public and development sector in Southern Africa for over 10 years. She served as Operations and Projects Manager at Volunteer and Service Enquiry Southern Africa (VOSESA), a not for profit organisation that is committed to strengthening and developing the voluntary sector in Southern Africa through research, publishing and evidence-based advocacy. Prior to working at VOSESA, Benter was a Programme Assistant in the Education; ICT and Languages Rights Programmes at OSISA.

Benter hails from Kenya and has been living in South Africa for the past 12 years. She holds a Masters degree in Public and Development Management (with distinction) and a Post Graduate Diploma in Management from the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, a Bcom Hons degree from the University of Nairobi and a Certificate on Fundraising for Non-Governmental Organisations from the University of Pretoria Gordon’s Institute of Business Science.
