Boipelo Mokgothu

Regional Communications and Social Media Coordinator

Boipelo Mokgothu is Sonke’s Regional Programmes & Networking (RPN) Communications and Social Media Coordinator. She holds a BA Degree in Journalism, with Communications as an elective, from the University of Johannesburg and a BA Honours Journalism Degree from Stellenbosch University. 

Boipelo worked as a digital journalist at Soccer Laduma and News24 before venturing into the NGO sector. In 2017, she was the Communications Assistant at the Graça Machel Trust, a Pan-African advocacy organization focused on child health and women’s rights and later joined the Mandela Institute for Development Studies, an Africa-wide think tank, as a Communications Officer. 

Boipelo is also an Associate Member of The Southern African Freelancers’ Association (SAFREA) which supports, promotes and advocates for freelance workers in the media and communications fields and has been published in Kick Off, Bona Magazine, True Love Education, New Frame and the Mail and Guardian.
