David Friedman

David is from Delray Beach, Florida and pursuing his Bachelor’s degree in History and French from Duke University. Early on, he acquired an interest in government and politics, initiating voter registration campaigns and later cofounding a microlending organization in his community. The latter piqued his interest in development work, and in the summer of 2011, he interned with a savings and credit co-operative in rural Southern Uganda. David is excited to be working with Sonke and wishes to use the experience to learn more about the human rights work that the organization does. Currently, his plans are to attend law school after graduating from Duke and to continue his work with human rights NGOs.
