Jacob Tobia joined Sonke as an International Programs Intern in the summer of 2012. During his time at Sonke, he authored training modules addressing sexual and gender-based violence, LGBTI equality, advocacy strategies, and leadership for the MenEngage Africa Training Initiative which ran from August 20th to August 30th, 2012.
Jacob is an undergraduate at Duke University where he is pursuing an interdisciplinary degree in Human Rights Advocacy. At Duke, he has served as Co-President of the undergraduate LGBTI group Blue Devils United, as Co-President of Duke Students for Gender Neutrality, and as an officer in Duke Student Government.
