Silindokuhle Hlazo is a student at the University of Fort Hare currently completing her Bachelors in Social Work. She started her internship at Sonke Gender Justice in February 2010. Her work is focusing on the development of a branch building strategy and the compilation of the operational guidelines for the branches.
Silindokuhle has volunteered at Matthew Rusike Children’s Home, supporting and looking after Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVCs) in Harare, Zimbabwe. She also worked with Lloyd Community in the Eastern Cape on poultry and gardening projects as a source of income for the old aged. Silindokuhle seeks to aid in the fight against gender inequality, the spread and impact of HIV and Aids and enhancing the social functioning of individuals and communities affected by inequality and the HIV epidemic.
