Suleiman is an activist, community builder of note and a skilled facilitator, with years of experience in the youth movement in Manenberg. He joined Sonke in November 2013 as the MenCare Facilitator. He has since broadened his portfolio to include work on Gender Transformative Approaches, SRHR, Parenting and various approaches on violence prevention.
Suleiman has played a significant role in the training of social service professionals on Gender Equal Parenting and was also responsible for providing technical support towards strengthening organisational capacities of various partners in South Africa and abroad. Suleiman is currently located in the Policy Development and Advocacy unit where he coordinates work promoting Meaningful and Inclusive Youth Participation and Gender Transformative Approaches.
He holds a Bachelor of Laws qualification from the University of the Western Cape and has completed numerous vocational training courses. Suleiman is passionate about human rights and advancing the rights of the marginalised.”
