Zanele Mdlekeza is currently the Chief of Staff at South African Tourism. Key to her role is serving as the strategic advisor to the Chief Executive Officer and overseeing the effective end to end functioning of the organization on behalf of the CEO. Mdlekeza joined SA Tourism in December 2017 and is an ex-officio member of Exco.
Zanele has over 10 years in strategy design and execution. Prior to this role, she held a senior position at Liberty Group as the Head of Strategic Program Management where she was responsible for the execution of special projects in line with the overall Group strategy. Her passion for strategy and executive also showed during her time at Hollard Insurance where she was the Strategy Manager and later managed one of the insurance businesses. She also has management consulting experience having worked at Accenture and Burlington Strategy Advisors.
Zanele holds a MBA from Gordon Institute of Business Science, BSc Computer Science degree from the University of Cape Town and currently reading for MPhil Corporate Strategy.
