2nd MenEngage Africa Symposium

The 2nd MenEngage Africa Symposium running from 23-26 April 2018, is underway in Maputo, Mozambique. The symposium brings together a network of gender justice activists, NGOs, government leaders, policy-makers and other actors working with men and boys on the African continent, to share best practice, learn and discuss issues such as the interaction of feminism and masculinities, as well as how youth can be engaged in the fight for gender equality.

Listen to this podcast with Sonke’s Senior Strategic Advisor, Bafana Khumalo discussing the importance of this event.

And here, Josephine Mukwendi, MenEngage Training Initiative Coordinator and Project Assistant, speaks of the need to engage youth to challenge gender norms and the importance of getting their voices heard.
