Community Mobiliser
Sisipho Cuntsulana is Sonke’s Community Mobiliser based in the Eastern Cape. Her journey as an activist began at Generation Gender’s Activate Change Drivers project, where she first witnessed the devastating effects of GBV on individuals and communities. Cuntsulana specializes in community education, campaigning and mobilization and her work is rooted in the principles of equality, respect, and human dignity.
As a speaker, facilitator, and trainer, she has led numerous workshops and campaigns aimed at raising awareness, educating the public, and providing support to survivors. Her commitment to gender justice is unwavering, and she continually seeks innovative approaches to tackle the intersectional nature of GBV, including its impact on different genders, sexualities, races, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
Beyond her professional achievements, Sisipho is driven by the belief that a truly just society requires collective action, and she works tirelessly to build solidarity among diverse communities, from activists to policymakers, in pursuit of a future where everyone can live with dignity and safety. Through her relentless efforts, she is not only challenging harmful norms but also paving the way for a world that champions gender equality for all.
