LGBTQI+ Rights
Sonke advocates for the rights of the LGBTQIA+ community through various platforms and initiatives. As part of this commitment, we have engaged with the media to raise awareness, speak out against discrimination, and call for the development and implementation of inclusive policies that uphold and protect the dignity and equality of LGBTQIA+ individuals.
We have implemented the USAID/Lesotho Khutlo Activity, under the CSM‑STAND consortium, with Pact, focusing on reducing GBV and stigma, particularly among LGBTQIA+ communities and cisgender women and girls in Lesotho. Through this programme we have built the capacity of civil society organizations to advocate for LGBTQI+ rights as well as provide quality and inclusive GBV prevention, mitigation, and response services.
