This interactive session will explore how age, gender, disability and other identities intersect to shape young people’s access to SRHR. Young people with disabilities are often excluded from SRHR advocacy and decision-making, impacting on their bodily autonomy, and many struggle to access the services they require, free from coercion and abuse, and based on free and informed choices. The session will open with brief remarks from five speakers who will share lived experience and expertise focusing on the following:
- Bodily autonomy, free and informed consent
- Accessibility and inclusive SRHR services and programmes
- Intersection of gender identity and disability
- Meaningful inclusion of persons with disability in SRHR advocacy and leadership
- Meaningful youth participation of youth with disabilities in SRHR spaces/processes/advocacy
