Before joining Sonke, Yanga worked as a Data Manager at the Desmond Tutu HIV Foundation, focusing on HIV prevention programmes for Adolescent Girls and Young Women in the Klipfontein/ Mitchells Plain district. Prior to joining the DTHF, Yanga worked as a Monitoring and Evaluation Officer at the National Association for Child Care Workers, Marie Stopes SA and also worked as an M&E fellow at the Foundation of Professional Development, seconded to Sarah Baartman Department of Health in Port Elizabeth.
Yanga completed her Bachelor of Arts degree in Media Communication and Culture and her Masters in Development Studies at the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University. In 2018, Yanga obtained a certificate in Project Management at Millpark Business School and is currently enrolled for an advanced certificate in Monitoring and Evaluation at the Foundation for Professional Development.
