Moleboheng Phiri is Sonke’s Regional Senior Trainer and holds a Bachelor in Social Sciences and Social Work from the University of the Free State. She is currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Social Work (Social Development and Policy) at the University of Pretoria. Her academic journey includes participation in the EU Erasmus Program in Germany at Fachhochschule University of Applied Sciences, where she focused on Globalization and the Lifeworld of Young Adults. She has completed an international Diploma in Humanitarian Assistance at Fordham University in New York. Phiri’s career spans various impactful roles. She worked as a language foreign instructor in South Korea, a GBV social worker in Bloemfontein, and later transitioned to the NGO sector as a GBV Social Work Coordinator for the Western Cape and KZN. Her leadership capabilities were further recognised when she became a district manager for Intensive Economic Strengthening in the Gauteng Region.
Phiri holds professional ethos in a deep commitment to gender issues. Her dedication to addressing and mitigating gender-based violence and promoting gender equality underscores her work and contributions in the field. Her career is marked by a consistent drive to foster social change and support vulnerable communities.
