Alexandreo Zinhle Talbot, is Sonke’s Resource Mobilisation intern. Alex is a dedicated advocate and dynamic leader with a Master of Arts in Political and International Studies from Rhodes University, where her insightful research, The Making of Masculinities: The Hidden Curriculum About Gender-Based Violence and Rape Culture at an Elite Private School in South Africa, examined the intricate connections between gender, power, and the culture of gender-based violence.
Her commitment to socio-political issues, particularly around mitigating GBV, is deeply personal and shaped by her upbringing. With parents dedicated to children’s rights and economic empowerment for the homeless, Alex brings a multi-dimensional and sustainable approach to gender justice. Her professional background includes academic administration, community engagement, and leadership roles, such as coordinating the Makhanda Children’s Rights Coalition and working alongside Women and Men Against Child Abuse.
Known for her vibrant personality, Alex combines confidence, energy, and resilience, thriving in diverse and challenging environments. She is deeply passionate about fostering lasting, positive change through her work with both academic and community groups.
