Sonke Gender Justice and MenEngage Africa, held an award ceremony to honour the journalists who have been tirelessly working towards promoting gender equality in their respective areas. The virtual event, held on the 12th of December 2023, was in memory of the late Khopotso Bodibe, a renowned journalist who dedicated his life to raising awareness about gender-based violence and the importance of women’s rights.
The award ceremony aimed to recognize and celebrate the efforts of journalists who have been instrumental in creating awareness about gender issues and the need for gender sensitivity in their reporting. The event provided a platform for journalists to share their experiences and exchange ideas on how they can continue to promote gender equality through their work.
