From the 1st to the 5th of June 2015, Sonke Gender Justice and MenEngage Africa, along with the Institute of Development Studies (IDS) and the Wits Centre for Diversity Studies conducted a workshop with faith leaders and gender and human rights activists from several African countries on the theme “Religion, Gender and Sexuality”. This five-day skills building and co-learning workshop was held in Johannesburg and focused on engaging faith leaders in efforts to advance human rights and realise gender equality in faith communities. At the end of the five days, participants found the workshop both significant and stimulating, as evidenced in this voxpops feature by Sonke’s Communications Associate, Khopotso Bodibe.
