About 600 people, including members of mineworkers unions as well as civil society took part in a march led by Sonke Gender Justice and the Treatment Action Campaign on the 13th of October 2015. The march, titled “Justice for Miners” is part of a concerted campaign to hold South Africa’s gold mines accountable for the health of underground workers and liable for damages for causing mineworkers to contract silicosis and tuberculosis.
