The scourge of gender based violence is once again on the spotlight following the Richmond District Court in KwaZulu-Natal denying bail to 36-year-old Zenzele Xaba, who is accused of assaulting his ex-girlfriend and leaving her completely blind. In another development, the Matsulu District Court outside Mbombela in Mpumalanga has dismissed the bail application of a 40-year-old man and journalist accused of raping his daughter.
