Women’s Health, Masculinities and Empowerment: More of the participants

Here are more faces, names, and biographies of participants in the Women’s Health, Masculinities and Empowerment short course that is being offered by Sonke Gender Justice, the UCGHI Center of Expertise on Women’s Health and Empowerment and MenEngage Africa at Kenyatta University, in Nairobi, Kenya.

Butera Jean Claude1. Butera Jean Claude is a Men Engage country coordinator for the Rwanda Men’s Resource Centre (RWAMREC), an MenEngage network in the Rwanda. He holds a Masters degree in Governance and Development. Claude is a gender activist whose participation in the course will increase his knowledge and skills and he will get to know how to better implement the lessons learnt in his community.
Dorothea Ernest2. Dorothea Ernest is a Men Engage and Monitoring &Evaluation project coordinator in Tanzania. She holds a degree in Economics and Statistics and a second degree in Economics from the University of Dar esSalaam. She wants to learn more on women’s health and masculinities and women empowerment.
Lucia Akaro3. Lucia S. Akaro is a child’s rights specialist. She holds a Bachelors of Arts degree in Education and a Masters degree in Arts and Gender Studies. Lucia yearns to learn more on gender issues to be able to mainstream them in every aspect of programming.
Laurelle Mbaradza4. Laurelle Mbaradza is a Project Officer at the Diocese of Mutare Community Care Programme, in Zimbabwe. She holds a Bachelors of Science Honours degree in Human Resource Management, a certificate in Research Methods, Executive Certificate in Programme and Project Monitoring and Evaluation. She expects to deepen her knowledge and understanding of women’s health for work purposes.
Emmanuel Manyati5. Emmanuel Manyati is a founder and Director of the Future Generations Trust, which is based in Zimbabwe. He holds a Diploma in Journalism and Community Development. Being a gender activist and a programmer, he hopes to acquire a stronger knowledge base on modern women’s empowerment dynamics and practices.
