Edgar is Sonke’s Deputy Finance Manager. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Governance Institute of South Africa (formerly the Chartered Institute of Secretaries and Administrators) and holds a Bachelor of Business Studies Honours Degree (University of Zimbabwe) as well as a BCompt (UNISA) and is an MBA candidate. He has over 20 years of accounting experience in the NGO, engineering, construction, manufacturing, and retail services industries. He has gained substantial experience in financial management of donor funded projects as well as systems & financial procedures implementation.
Edgar has worked for various NGOs including Field Band Foundation, Mould Empower Serve (MES) and SRHR Africa Trust (SAT) in areas such as strategic financial & business planning, financial reporting, grants management, budgeting and forecasting, regulatory compliance as well as transformation & change initiatives leadership.
Edgar likes playing chess and golf and watching soccer during his spare time.
