Emery Jenson was a Communications and Strategic Information (CSI) Unit Intern based in the Cape Town office. He was completing degrees in English, Global Health, and French at Duke University.
In his time at Duke, Emery had been active in gender relations through the Men’s Project, a team dedicated to helping men see their roles in the construction of a harmful patriarchy, and through “Shrine for Girls”, an art exhibition in New York’s Flag Art Foundation.
He was especially interested in the role of narrative in the shaping of health outcomes and vice-versa. He hoped to be able to contribute to the CSI unit’s goal of inspiring change through the power of effective communication.
