Lizhan joined Sonke Gender Justice in 2013 as a Human Resource Intern. The years following she moved into administration and administrative coordination on programmes which focus on children’s rights and positive parenting, Gender transformative approaches, Gender Based Violence prevention and the prevention of early child marriages. Her experience include the coordination and the monitoring of local and regional projects.
Lizhan completed her Business Commerce Degree in 2012 and an Honours in Industrial Psychology in 2013 at the University of the Western Cape, with her thesis addressing equality within the workplace and affirmative action. Lizhan obtained a certificate in performance evaluation and is currently enrolled at Stellenbosch University for a Master’s Degree in Monitoring and Evaluation.
