Chief of Party for the USAID/Khutlo activity based in Lesotho

Makhetha Moshabesha is Sonke Gender Justice’s Chief of Party for the USAID/Khutlo activity based in Lesotho. He has extensive experience working in the development sector. In his 20-year work experience, he has worked in programmes that addressed Adolescent and Youth Development, Adolescent Health, Education, Child Protection incl. Violence Against Children, HIV&AIDS, Sexual Reproductive Health, Gender Based Violence. He has also had a stint working in the private sector as an organizational development consultant, with a focus on personal development and team building.

Among the various portfolios he has held over the years, he was a teacher, The Adolescent and Youth Development Officer with UNICEF, The Chairperson of the Intellectual Disability and Autism Lesotho (IDAL), The Technical Lead Prevention Services with Baylor – Karabo ea Bophelo USAID Project, and various consulting services. Makhetha believes that “a person with passion has great potential, a person with talent has many opportunities, a person with a purpose can reach great heights BUT a person who pursues their purpose with passion through the optimal use of their talents has a truly fulfilled life”. He is a dedicated husband and father of 2 boys and fostering 1 girl.
