Nomhle Soni joined Sonke as a Trainer in the Community Education and Mobilisation Unit. Nomhle sports a Bachelor of Social Science from UKZN, a diploma in project management and a certificate in human resources. She’s been active in the NPO sector for the past 10 years and worked in various positions. She worked as project coordinator in conjunction with the HSRC and through that, accumulated vast knowledge in the areas of GBC and the LGBTIQA+ communities.
Nomhle also has working knowledge on basic human rights, the children’s sector and has been part of the task team of the uMgungundlovu AIDS Council and the local Aids council of Msunduzi Municipality. Her interests are more specifically HIV, key population, women and children’s rights, advocacy towards the decrease of gender-based violence and child and youth participation and peer education programmes.
