Tshepo Mahuma

National Programmes Manager: Community Education and Mobilisation

Tshepo Mahuma is Sonke’s National Programmes Manager for the Community Education and Mobilisation unit. She is responsible for programme oversight in South African provinces where Sonke has a footing. Mahuma started her career in 2010 at the South African Medical Research Council. She holds a Masters degree in Anthropology with a focus on medicines and health from the University of Johannesburg.  

She has worked at various NGOs, and in institutions within the higher education sector. Mahuma has experience in programme coordination, monitoring and evaluation, research and learning and community programme implementation. She is best with community mobilisation, stakeholder engagement, donor relations and reporting. Her interests are in gender, HIV/AIDS, youth health, women’s health, and intimate partner violence.
