In this paper, Dr. Abhijit Das and Satish Kumar Singh from the Center for Health and Social Justice (CHSJ) in Delhi, India describe lessons learned from implementation of the Samajdar Jodidar project, which mobilized men and boys for social and public accountability to stop violence against women in the Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh states of India. The paper unpacks interconnected changes and processes at individual, community, national and policy levels, offers a critical analysis of factors that constitute best practice, as well as gaps and limitations in content and monitoring and evaluation approaches.
